Our leather document case shows the Gfeller process in action: first heavy skirting leather is specially selected from a tannery, then oiled twice and stamped with an insignia via press molding, and stitched together with pure linen. Photo by Jason Frank Rothenberg

Spring 2016: Gfeller Casemakers

Starting in 1946, rancher Roy Gfeller made a side business out of repairing saddles. One day, a geologist dropped by to
commission a custom belt case for his field documents. Roy's reputation soon spread through the ranks of the scientific community,
and ever since, the Gfeller brand has been the most trusted source for leather belts, pouches, and cases. Our Gfeller cases are the proudest
pieces of leather we own — making the choice to further our collaboration with the legendary Idaho leatherworkers was an easy one.
