First there was our Famous Red Axe, then came our Famous Red Cap of Courage, and now we're proud to present the next iteration in the illustrious series. Made from 100% fluff-loomed fine merino wool, by one of the only vertical woolen mills in the USA.

Notes

The benefits of wool can be attributed to its unique fibers which are both moisture absorbing and water repellent. The keratin exterior of woolen fibers allows it to shed water and snow, making for a weather-resistant outer layer. This moisture shedding quality also makes wool quite stain resistant. The moisture absorbing inner cortex of the fiber absorbs moisture when worn close to the skin, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable. In fact, wool can absorb 30% of its weight without feeling damp to the touch. Woolen fibers crimp tightly together, making for countless tiny air pockets that insulate against both heat and cold. These crimps are also incredibly durable (up to 7 times more durable than cotton), making for strong, long-lasting fabrics and garments.
