Story

The most fabled European pocket knife has returned stateside, re-tooled and revamped for improved cutting and longevity. The Mercator K55K was first produced at the dawn of the 20th Century by Heinrich Kaufmann & Söhne, in Solingen, Germany. The "K" stands for the original manufacturer's last initial, the "55" for their address (55 High Street), and the last "K" is for the cat (katz). This is not your grandfather's Mercator: in the latest version we have the hallmark "black cat", but now improvements include upgrades to the action, a powder coated steel handle, and a much finer carbon steel C75 locking blade. An extremely thin design that slides into any pocket, the Mercator is Made in Solingen for Best Made by Otter-Messer.
