Story

Diana Ross and the Supremes are inarguably the most successful, highest selling girl group of all time — and as pure and quintessential Detroit Motor City as you can get. Originally released as a double-CD in 2008, Third Man Records and Universal Music have transformed this collection of rarities, outtakes, and incomparable live recordings into a glorious 4xLP collection. The 12” vinyl — covering everything from the earliest Primettes tracks to the greatest hits — is housed in an impeccably-designed slipcase, with vibrant watercolor pastel photos highlighting this inimitable group of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Aside a handful of forgotten vinyl releases decades ago, the majority of this material has not been released on vinyl — until now. “Supreme Rarities” are the first Motown records ever pressed in the city of Detroit, mere miles from where the girls grew up and went to school.
