The Design Director of Soft Goods will lead the concept, design and execution for Best Made’s rapidly growing “Soft Goods” categories (Apparel, Accessories, Bags & Cases). This role will work alongside the company’s founder and Creative Director to define the creative direction for this lifestyle brand and will oversee all elements of the seasonal design strategy and development process in collaboration with a team of merchants, sourcing and development partners and freelance designers. Best Made seeks a candidate who can create original, timeless and relevant designs that fulfill the brand’s central promise of refined utility via materials, quality, and design.   • Identify opportunities for design innovation while maintaining the integrity and mission of the Best Made brand throughout all Men’s apparel, accessories and bag categories.
  • Lead research on seasonal trends in the men’s contemporary and outdoor spaces
  • Oversee the initial seasonal design concepts in context of larger assortment plan needs, cost guardrails and milestone structure; partner with Merchandising to review and provide feedback on seasonal line plans

Job Description

  • Provide accurate and effective executive administrative support to the CEO and Chief Merchandising Officer.
  • Identify and anticipate needs of the CEO and Chief Merchandising Officer to plan work activities accordingly.
  • Manage multiple schedules with heavy calendaring of complex meetings.
  • Present a professional, organized and warm demeanor on the phone and in person-high level of professionalism and discretion is required.
  • Take detailed notes at key internal and external meetings.
  • Assist in managing communications and updates across departments and teams.
  • Work with key cross-functional partners to set up and manage brand calendar, including scheduling key milestone meetings and managing attendees.
  • Consolidate, format, and distribute PowerPoint Presentations (or Apple Keynote Presentations) from multiple sources.
