Last week I drove 721 miles to visit a new manufacturing partner in the Midwest. While I was there I managed to snap this photo (above) of a 4-pound 9-ounce billet of carbon steel. That block will soon be shaped by skilled hands and will anchor our new product line in September.
These days I often get asked what I am going to do differently with the next Best Made. I tell people that it's not so much "what" I am doing differently, but "how" I am doing it. Obsessing over the process is my best chance at an ideal outcome.
Needless to say I cannot wait to reveal what this billet of steel is going to be. In the meantime, you might be able to guess what it will be. But the real question is how.
