From the same fires that forged our best-selling Kevlar Shears comes the Ten-Inch Paper Scissors: a tool with a more specific job to do, done with precision. Crafted in Sheffield, England by Whiteley, this blade is built for professionals, decorators, framers, and wallpaper hangers.

The length is the point. Ten inches allows for a longer pull and fewer interruptions through wallpaper, poster paper, and large prints—where every reset of the blade risks a wandering line. The hot-forged carbon steel holds an edge, and the Teflon coating keeps adhesives from grabbing as they cut through contact paper, vinyl, and glue-backed stock.

Sheffield has been making cutting tools for centuries, and Whiteley's scissors carry on that tradition without affectation.

In the heart of Sheffield, England, a city once synonymous with the clang of the Industrial Revolution, William Whiteley & Sons stands as a living testament to the enduring craft of scissor-making. Founded in 1760 and with roots stretching even further back, this venerable institution has honed its edge through more than two and a half centuries, earning a Royal Warrant in 1840. The company's innovative "side bent" scissor design became a staple on Savile Row, cementing Whiteley's reputation in the annals of British craftsmanship.

Whiteley's has continued to cut through modern challenges with characteristic precision. Today, the 11th and 12th generations of the Whiteley family guide the company as it develops cutting-edge solutions for materials as advanced as carbon fiber and Kevlar, used in Formula 1 racing cars and bulletproof vests.

Cleaning: After each use, wipe the inside of the blades with a clean, soft cloth to remove dust and fibers that can impair cutting ability. For heavier use, consider using a drop of light machine oil on a cloth to clean the blades weekly

Lubrication: Apply a drop or two of shear oil, such as clipper or shear oil, to the pivot area at least once per week. This helps ensure smooth operation and reduces friction. Wipe down the blades after applying oil

Sharpening: Occasionally, the shears may need sharpening. It is recommended to have this done by professionals experienced in sharpening fabric and tailoring shears, as incorrect sharpening can damage the shears

Storage: Store the shears in a dry environment with the blades closed to prevent damage. Avoid harsh treatment, such as dropping or bashing, which can cause irreversible edge damage

General Care: Avoid using the shears on inappropriate materials that could dull or damage the blades, such as cutting wire or other hard materials not intended for these shears
