Logan Gillihan has been making things with his hands from a very young age, and got his start making knives in 2015 while studying Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University. While applying what he learned on campus to honing his craft at home, he developed a process for function driven design and precise, repeatable results.
Logan was first introduced to the world of forging at the OSU blacksmithing club, where he made his first billet of Damascus steel. This opened up a new (old) world of craftsmanship to pursue (as well as a new love for restoring old power hammers), with a focus of sole authorship, high performance materials like stainless and titanium Damascus. Logan is also in the process of testing for a Journeyman Smith rating with the American Bladesmith Society.
In 2021, Logan left his home in the Pacific Northwest to become the Design Engineer for Coal Iron Works in Anderson, Indiana where he has spent the last five years designing and building high performance forging equipment for some of the most talented smiths alive.
Logan has continued to refine his craft and grow his capabilities for over a decade, and in addition specializing in robust fixed blades and frame lock folding knives, designs and manufactures parts for a number of other makers in the industry.
