Since 1917, the US Navy has relied on the accuracy of the Chelsea Clock Company to synchronize its submarines, destroyers, cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers. In fact, in 1943 Chelsea was one of the few companies presented with the prestigious “E” award by the U.S. Government in recognition of manufacturing excellence. The 24-Hour Chelsea Deck Clock is Best Made’s latest effort to adapt field technology for civilian use. This model features a shatterproof face, a brass screw locking hinged bezel and a phenolic resin case. Entirely self-sufficient, the German quartz movement requires no attention short of replacing the single AA battery, which can be accessed inside the hinged case.
